Retina UK is a national charity based in Buckingham - just on the Stratford Road - which invests in research into inherited sight loss while supporting people with the conditions. Last week they invited me to visit them and find out more about the work that they do. What a terrific bunch of people they are - wrestling with the complexities of this range of medical conditions and the challenges of helping people of all ages manage their lives. They are always looking for volunteers to assist their work, be it for a one off few hours (inputting data from a survey for example) or for a longer commitment (such as becoming a telephone helpline supporter). They are a really friendly team and I was enthused after spending time with Tina Houlihan, the Chief Executive and all her colleagues.
