Police Community Forum

It wasn't a big meeting, but it was a very positive and informative one. Last night I attended the local Community Forum convened by our local police in the shape of Sgt Emily Dover, PC Chris Stockings and the Youth Offending Team police officer (whose name I did not write down). There were five us from the town including Cllr Mike Smith. We talked about youth anti-social behaviour (amongst other topics).

As many readers will know, there have been many incidents of anti-social behaviour from a small number of local young people. We were informed that the Crown Prosecution Service has now put through 15 case files to the courts and there are another 15 or more in the pipeline. It seems likely now that a number of 'Youth Rehabilitation Orders' will be issued as the local police have now exhausted all previous measures at their disposal.
"Youth rehabilitation order – this is a community sentence which can include one or more of 18 different requirements that the offender must comply with for up to three years. Some examples of the requirements that can be imposed are a curfew, supervision, unpaid work, electronic monitoring, drug treatment, mental health treatment and education requirements."
The police were able to report a number of successful arrests including the man who burgled a house in Foscote and stole a large amount of jewellery (which has now been recovered). If you don't already, I recommend that you follow the local Aylesbury Vale Police FB group which provides news from our local police team.

Drugs remain a concern and the police are keen for people to report incidents of drug dealing to them so that they can react. There are plans for a specialist team from Aylesbury to be doing some work in the town over the next few months as well...

Finally, the police rely upon the public feeding them intelligence about crime. So if you see or hear anything - please get in touch. There are many ways to do this including just emailing them on BuckinghamandDistrictNHPT@thamesvalley.pnn.police.uk
