A moving beginning

It was a joy to be present at the Brackley Mayor Making again this year and listen to the outgoing Mayor, Cllr Don Thompson's review of his past year and listen to the plans of the incoming Mayor, Cllr Mark Morrell. He gave an extraordinarily moving and powerful speech.

Mark (also famous for being Mr Pothole) told me later that he became very moved by the fact that his Mum was wearing her OBE for the first time ever, having been awarded it some years ago. He also proud to explain in his speech that he had a history of some mental health problems but the fact he was there was living proof that a person can deal with these and move on. Very emotional stuff for me and many others in the audience! All power to your elbow: you are going to be an amazing Mayor of Brackley!

But I was left wondering why The Magdalen School seems to have some years where no head boy is appointed...
