As readers know - one of my Mayor's Charities this year is BACAB which raises money for our local Citizens' Advice service - and specifically for their home visiting services. There are many people in Buckingham and beyond who have great difficulty getting to the offices on Market Hill, so there is a small team who go out to visit people and help them with their issues - be it a benefits matter or a landlord matter or whatever. On Friday, John Bercow hosted some afternoon tea, organised by BACAB, for local business people to encourage more local businesses to support this service through corporate donations.
John, as usual, made an eloquent and powerful speech about why the Citzens' Advice services are so important and why it is in everyone's interest, including self interest, for business owners to make a contribution towards these services carrying on.
Here is a pic of Sue Currie and Sue Norman - who are 2 of the 3 people who do the home visiting. Thanks for all that you do!

Some of the people attending - thanks to all who came! And thanks to the BACAB people who organised this. And remember - if you want to donate to BACAB - as an individual or as a company - please follow this link: bacab.org.uk/donate
And here are some personal statements from existing supporters - makes for good reading!! Thanks to all of them for helping make Buckingham a great place for all.
